A big Puerto Rican THANK YOU to IBEW Local 827! The union held a pig roast at Redd's Restaurant in Carlstadt to benefit NJ4PR and support the hurricane relief effort on the island. The event was a PHENOMENAL success and featured a buffet dinner, cigar roller, DJ, and much more! IBEW remains a crucial NJ4PR partner and we can't thank them enough for their support! We look forward to many more successful events to support the relief effort on our island in the coming months and years!

Following the devastation Hurricanes Irma and Maria wrought on Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands in September, Verizon announced an initial pledge of $1 million to help with recovery efforts. Shortly following Hurricane Maria, and learning of the magnitude of the damage left by the storm, Verizon pledged an additional $4 million and a commitment to identify organizations that could provide significant long-term recovery assistance to the islands.

A big shout out to Middlesex County College for planning this amazing Hurricane/Earthquake Relief Concert to be held at the Middlesex County College Performing Arts Center in Edison on Tuesday, November 14! The concert is being planned and held in cooperation with the amazing folks at the Puerto Rican Action Board and the Puerto Rican Association for Human Developmentwhose CEO, Yvonne Lopez, is an NJ4PR board member. Admission is FREE - donations will go to NJ4PR among other worthy organizations supplying much-needed relief!
