Following the devastation Hurricanes Irma and Maria wrought on Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands in September, Verizon announced an initial pledge of $1 million to help with recovery efforts. Shortly following Hurricane Maria, and learning of the magnitude of the damage left by the storm, Verizon pledged an additional $4 million and a commitment to identify organizations that could provide significant long-term recovery assistance to the islands.

A big shout out to Middlesex County College for planning this amazing Hurricane/Earthquake Relief Concert to be held at the Middlesex County College Performing Arts Center in Edison on Tuesday, November 14! The concert is being planned and held in cooperation with the amazing folks at the Puerto Rican Action Board and the Puerto Rican Association for Human Developmentwhose CEO, Yvonne Lopez, is an NJ4PR board member. Admission is FREE - donations will go to NJ4PR among other worthy organizations supplying much-needed relief! A huge Puerto Rican XOXOXO to LITM in Jersey City for supporting Maria Relief at their Open Mic night Saturday!  All donations, raffles and a portion of drink sales were donated to NJ4PR. The event was a HUGE success and was sponsored by Brockman's Gin who provided some featured cocktails and a gift basket to be raffled. Other Jersey City businesses who provided gift cards as part of our raffles included Downtown Yogurt, Roman Nose, WORD Book store, and LITM. Thanks to all who participated!
